Digging deeper: Initial results from the A428

Abstract: Digging deeper: Initial results from the A428.
Between July 2022 and June 2024 excavations took place ahead of the Black Cat to Caxton Gibbet Improvement Scheme for National Highways. 53 hectares of excavation revealed insights into the pioneers who first settled the Cambridgshire/Bedfordshire claylands in the Early Iron Age, and how their settlements developed into the Roman period and beyond.
